There are several views which we could see from the place where the monument "Sailor and soldier" have set. This place was not far from our house where we lived. We went there quite often, usually in the evening, before sunset.
This fort denotes the entrance to the Sevastopol Big Bay. In 1854, several ships of the Sevastopol squadron were flooded at the entrance to this bay in order to block the path of enemy steamboats. Thus began the Crimean War of 1854-1855. |
